Pumpkin Patch

I don't know why I'm just now getting around to posting this. Life has been busy, busy, but lots of fun.
Last year we went to a large pumpkin patch with animals, big slides, bump and jumps, and so on, but most of all LOTS of people. My SIL, LaRae, her Mom, and I tried out a different one this year and it was so much more enjoyable. We went to Moon Farm where they had hay rack rides, animal, corn maze, haunted maze, pumpkins, and all the other great things that come along with the everyday Moon Farm. It was definitely a more homey small town experience with friendly owners and no masses of people. Most importantly though, the kids had a blast. I still catch Everett randomly talking about all the things he got to see and do!

Currently...

Loving... Sweater weather! It so nice to pull out all these warmer weather clothes, I'm loving it!

Reading… Some schooling at home books. I just finished Homeschooling in Your Garden and now I'm reading Boys and Manners.

Working on… Halloween costume for Everett. It can't wait to share it. It's gonna be so cute!

Thinking about… Life. I know thats super general, but I've had a rough last three days, and I'm really not one to complain, but I'm hoping to see some brighter days soon.

Watching... I want to be watching the new season of Walking Dead, but my husband doesn't want me to without him. We were both pretty big fans of the first season, and I can't wait to see what the second season has in store!

Anticipating… Christmas! I think all the excitement before hand is way better than the actually day. Do you guys feel that way?

Listening to… Of Monsters and Men. (This music video is a little strange at the end, but I love the song.)

Eating... Organic pepita sun seed butter this stuff is a little pricey, but probably worth it. I bought it originally because a) it sounded delicious and b) it had some things in it that I need to help with vitamin deficiency. It turned out to taste better than I ever imagined. this stuff is amazing guys, really.

Falling in Love

Another little corny pun here, I know, but I always seem to fall in love with fall every year. There's just so many great "once a year" things that come with the season. I almost wish it was fall all year, but I guess that would take the magic away. Here are a few of my current fall faves!

1. print scarf 2. Waterfall Braid 3. Fall Heart Outfit 4. Keep Canning 5. Chevron Pumpkins 6. Lumberjack costume 7. Wreath 8. DIY plush apple 9. Apple Nachos 10. Outfits 11. Lentil Walnut Apple Loaf 12. Braided scarf tutorial 13. Roasted Tomato Soup 14. leaf assembly

Farm Dreams

I don't think I've ever shared on here some of my small farm dreams, but this video gets pretty close. This family business is so amazing! I just wish it wasn't all the way out in Maine.

Apple Picking

My SIL, Danelle, invited Everett and I to do a little apple picking at at near by orchard she heard about. We were pretty ecstatic to receive the invite, of course. It was a lot of fun and I agree with her that it might have to become a new fall tradition. All the different apples they had were perfectly sweet and delicious, so we all had a little snack during the process. I think it was a pretty neat learning experience for the little ones too. We're really enjoying our fresh picked apples and I can't wait to start making a bunch of apple recipes now!

Little Stages

Everett has been doing some extremely cute things lately. He's getting into that cute curiosity stage and trying out everything for himself. He's gotten into pretend food the last couple weeks, so he'll feed me pretend chocolate cookies and then offer me a bowl of ice cream after I've had about twenty. Sometimes I ask him a question just to hear what kind of cute answer he has for me. And when I can't decide what shoes to wear, or something, he always has a strong opinion on what I need to wear (I've been noticing a pattern of whatever's brighter colored though). It's been so much fun to watch him get into serious discussions with stuffed animals and I can't even count how many times I've burst out laughing just listening to him. It all goes without saying, that this has definitely been my favorite stage of his and no matter how much I miss some of those tiny baby moments of his, I know it gets better with time.
