Lazy, Happy, Gloomy.

Today has been rainy and gloomy all day. I'm not complaining about it at all though. Its been awhile since we've had a day like this. I had a little list of things to get done today, but Everett and I decided to hang out at home today and have a Rainy Day sorta day. It's SO nice I haven't had a day like this in too long. We made homemade soup, watched cartoons and ate ice cream, and took a warm bath. Now he's taking a little snooze while I'm typing this out. I can't wait to see what other kinds of things we're going to decide to do on this Rain Day. I love being his mommy. xo -Liz

Horse Print

There's just something about horse print that makes me happy.

I've been hunting for little western, vintage, treasures for Everett's nursery ever since he was born. I think it's gotten me really into horses lately. This skirt is actually one that my sissy re-did. You can see the post about it here.

A few more of my favorites. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

We've been enjoying the park A LOT lately. It's been so nice.

Everett's face, on the way down the slide, cracks me up every time I watch this, haha.

And now here are some links I love this weekend. Enjoy. xo -Liz

Miles of Smiles and Beauty

One of my favorite people, Rachel, had her braces removed on Valentine's Day. We did a little photo shoot with her gorgeous self and her brand new smile the other day. It was so much fun! I love her

5 Goals This Month

I compiled a list of goals to reach this next month. I hope to get better at each one(even if it's just a little) by the end of this next month.
P.S. I made this photo a while back just for fun and decided to finally share it. xo -Liz

Read more, especially to the little: He loves being read to so much. I do read to him twice a day(once before nap and once before bed time), but I need to slow down and take time read an extra book or two to him. It's one of my favorite times of the day. I also Need to make time to finish some of my books. They're piling up more than ever which leads to my next one...

Stop getting distracted!: I become distracted easily. If I get on the internet to do something productive I end up watching old Chamberlyn vlogs or browsing Pintrest. I have, luckily, been doing very well with Face Book, but I think I need to do the same with a few other sites.

Organize my day: It takes me FOREVER to get going on my day. I feel like I'm running back and forth between things trying to make it work faster, but stopping one thing to finish another over and over never speeds things up. I really don't now how you working moms do it! Between Trying to feed, dress, and care for Everett and trying to get all my things together our morning doesn't begin till close to noon.

Take advantage of the weather: I need to get out of this mindset that it's still winter. Mother Nature is obviously wanting to be enjoyed right now with its many summery days lately and I need to take time to enjoy it as much as possible, weather that be a hike, a walk, or a day at the park with the littles.

Use my camera: Yeah, that sounds sorta weird because there are SO MANY photos on this blog, but I have definitely been lazy about using my Cannon for the easy phone camera. The Iphone has the best phone camera out there and I love it to death, but after using my regular camera for a couple days I was impressed by how much better my photos looked. I really appreciate it when people take the time to make their photos look their best and so I feel like I really need to stop being a lazy photo taker.

Perfection.

I'm a HUGE perfectionist though and though (God bless my husband). If something's not just right I get pretty upset with myself and feel like a failure. Whenever I make a mistake it takes DAYS for me to get over it! It's of course not with everything(thank God), but still quite a few things. I'm not a clean freak or OCD although I do feel 10x better when things are clean. I mostly am a people pleaser. If I work hard to please someone and they point out things after that I didn't do right I start balling inside, especially if I don't get a second chance to redeem myself. (although I do appreciate comments to help me improve on something!)
My husband has learned over the years to be a little more expressive about my meals, because if he's silent, or says, "it was good" in a neutral voice it make me think there was something wrong with it. (I'm also very expressive when it comes to good food!)
I've been a HUGE perfectionist with Everett. To the point where my life was 100% mom 100% of the time. I made it a goal a while back to just quit trying to make everything perfect for him and slack off every once in a while. I feel like I've become a lot better at this over time and still continue to. It's hard to have to relearn to live life.
With all of that said I just want you to know that my life's not perfect... in any way. I've seen so many bloggers frustrated with themselves and feeling like their not good enough, because they get sucked up in this fantasy lifestyle where everything looks, tastes, fits, and goes perfect. Behind those twenty-some perfect pictures that someone posted, there were probably a good eighty that weren't. My point is, that any kind of social networking is just like a magazine. You can't take anything for what it looks like. I try to be genuine on this blog as much as I can, but yes, I do post more about my good days then my bad. I like to look at the positive side of life and I hope you usually leave this blog feeling a little more positive about life. We have way too little life left to focus on the negative.
Enjoy life. Enjoy the little things. Don't pull your hair out, because you can't get something to look the way it does on Pintrest!

A Quick Hello.

Today was so great. It was the first day this year I wore sandals and went most of the day without a jacket. This warm winter has been almost better than spring because I don't have to deal with the crazy spring winds yet.
The husband's still out of town and won't be back until Monday sometime. So I've had this weekend to do a few things I wouldn't normally do. I spent the day finding a few goodies at estate sales with my mom and then we had lunch at Chic-fil-A. I swear, if my life was a TV show that place would be like Friends Central Perk or Seinfeld's Monk's Restaurant.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend! xo -Liz

5 Things I'm in Love with This Week

I've had this in my make up box forever, because I didn't like it very much. Once my normal eyeliner ran out I pulled this out and started using it. After using it the first three times and with some some getting used to, I'm in love!

I've been meaning to try this dressing for ages and I finally had the chance the other day. SO amazing. The perfect amount of spicy and tart and it's healthy and sooo easy to make!

These wedding photos part one

I never had a wedding, but looking at these makes want to plan one!

This site filled with vintage posters

This home tour part 1 & 2
This is like a dream home. The  natural lighting in this house is amazing! I'm in love.

V-day Part 2

I hope you all had an amazing Valentines! Everett made his very first valentines for his dada yesterday and he had a blast! It was too cute to watch him. I took a TP roll and shaped it into a heart so he could dip it in the paint and stamp it into the paper.
Later for lunch, us girls had a little picnic, because it was SO nice out, until it suddenly turned cloudy and cold within a few minutes(you can tell in the pictures below). My husby came home for a quick dinner before he had to rush off to practice. And then I spent the rest of the night with Rachel and Brenna embroidering, drinking amazing homemade drinks and watching romance movies!
