Get to Know: Brenna

Hi! I'd like you to get to know one of my favorite bloggers and people!

Name: Brenna

Age: 21

Occupation: Baker and owner of Red Rabbit Shop

If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be, and why?

Definitely Monica's from FRIENDS. She has great style and decor and it seems like such a fun place to hang out.

Name 3 things you have in your pockets/bag right now?

A book, my bag of yard sale change and water.

Are you named after anyone first or middle name?

My Grandma on my dad's side is named Kenna and rhymes with Brenna and then my Grandma on my mom's side's middle name is Ann, same as mine.

What's your favorite song of the moment?

"Wrong Side of Love" by Augustana. Their new CD is increadible!

What is your favorite form of exercise?

I like riding my bike and hiking, but the gym is really convenient haha

If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?

I don't think I have the kind of patience to work on only one project for that long, so I would probably do a series of projects for Red Rabbit.

What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?

Blue Valentine. I liked it and hated it at the same time. More hate though...

What's your favorite drink and snack?

A good Woodchuck to drink and frozen yogurt to eat please :)

Ever been addicted to a video/computer game? Which one(s)?

I have never been a real big gamer, but I was addicted to Super Mario Bros for most of my childhood and recently it has been Angry Birds... I can spend hours and hours playing that game.

Have any celebrity crushes?

Hmm... I suppose I would have to say Jason Schwartzman, Edward Norton, and I'd still have to include Dominic Monaghan

You can find Brenna's blog here! xo

Name Magnet Tutorial

I saw magnets like these (above) at my sister-in-law (LaRae's). I told her that I liked them a lot, and then she told me that she made hers! She explained how she made them and gave me enough stones to make my own too!
So, here is a simple tutorial on how you can easily make your own as well!
What you need:
  • Clear, flat, large marble stones
  • Self adhesive magnets
  • Stamp pad and letter stamps(or sharpie and good handwriting)
  • Glue(not pictured) a glue stick will work fine
  • Scissors
  • Notebook paper or some other print that you like
First, stamp the letters on your paper making sure you have a good amount of space around each letter.

Then, cut out the paper. It doesn't have to be pretty, it just makes it easier to handle each letter individually. Glue the stones straight onto the front of the paper.

Then, cut off the paper around the stone in a circle. Make sure you cut enough off so can't see the excess from the front.

Now you can stick your magnets on the backside of each stone. Make sure your glue is dry before you stick them on the fridge or the paper will slide off the stone from the weight (trust me, I know).

Enjoy! xo

Tennis Anyone?

Yesterday the Sweet Mister and I played tennis for the first time together. I've been really interested in tennis since I was young, but had never had a chance to really learn to play, since I was Home-schooled. By the time I got out of high-school, I finally perused my silly interest and bought a couple old-school rackets from good will so me and my sister could start playing, just for the fun of it. We played for a good two summers before our lives started getting too busy.
David did pretty good yesterday, but we both are not actually "good" at tennis haha. We chased plenty of stray balls!

What a lovely summer evening. I hope you can start up something you love this summer. It's such a great thing when you can take some time to do something you enjoy every once in a while! xo

P.S. sorry about the cruddy cell phone pics

Special Girl.

Last night I had an ineradicably realistic dream that my mother-in-law had a baby girl that looked just like her with dark hair and all.
I'm sure I only had it because I fell asleep thinking about my sister-in-law(my mother-in-law's daughter) being almost due. When I woke up, from the crazy dream, I checked my phone and had a text from my sister-in-law saying, "She's here!" I was so completely surprised and excited! I couldn't believe the bundle was already here! Such a special wittle girly was born today! My precious niece Elliana Joy Fox, 5 lbs. 15 oz. 17 1/2 inches. We went to see the cuteness today at the hospital. Thank you Fox's for letting us invade for a while so we could see this precious girly! xo

Party is over. Time to work.

I'm so happy for my husby, he started his new job yesterday. It's such a bummer for me though. He has way more hours. The job he had before seems like a party now that he has this new one. I'm lucky if I get to see him for a whole hour.

YESTERDAY                                                                  TODAY
7:30 AM at work,                                                         7:30 AM at work,
5:30 get off,                                                                  5:30 get off,
5:45 church practice,                                                    5:45 church practice,
8:45 church is over,                                                      8:30 New Country practice,
9 finally eat dinner.                                                      11PM go home, go to bed.
The band that he's in,
New Country's, practice was luckily postponed,
so he ended up going to buy tools for his new job instead.
10:15 come home, go to bed.

It's just one thing after another. I have a feeling his schedule will be like this until he decides to eliminate some stuff... witch I know will be really hard for him.

Happy Birthday...

To ME!
Yesterday we went up to the mesa to see my parents for my birthday. They took us out to eat at the Grand Mesa lodge. It was so weird to see snow in late June!

Above: The cooks dog waiting for the little bear to send him down a treat.
Below: A giant birthday cinnamon roll (birthday dessert!) devoured.

Brenna fell asleep on the way back down, from working a the bakery since early that morning.
Around 5 PM  a few of us played putt-putt. It was so fun for our anniversary, I decided to do it for my birthday as well, but with our friends and family!

The little bear actually got hit by a golf ball really hard! It's still looks really bad today, but luckily it was nothing serious... poor guy.
After putt-putt we went out to eat and got to open some amazing presents! My friends Jen and Megan met over at my house after to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox and the sweet mister surprised me with a giant cookie cake and put candle on it for me to blow out.  He's so thoughtful :) I had such a blessed birthday and I have so many people to thank for that!
