Junk Smoohtie
I'm not kidding when I say smoothies are amazing. They're probably my number one go to food when I'm wanting to eat really healthy and want something convenient and simple at the same time. I've discovered green smoothies are one of the healthiest things to consume too. They provide so many necessary nutrients it one drink. You can add whatever you're craving and add what your body's needing a little extra of at the same time, weather that be antioxidants, liver cleansing foods, etc. I've found that with a little bit of fruit(and maybe some sweetener) you can add so many other vegetables without it tasting weird. The other day I added radishes to my smoothie and I didn't even taste a hint of them. I ALWAYS add spinach to my smoothies because I've had a history of low iron, but it's good for you in so many other ways too and practically tasteless in a smoothie!
When I say junk smoothie I mean I make smoothies with whatever you have on hand. And whenever your fruits are about to go bad, freeze them and use them later in a smoothie instead of tossing them. When you see berries or fruits for an amazing price, buy extra and put them up in the freezer and you won't even have to buy those bags of frozen fruit at the store. And instead of tossing it whenever your spinach is getting a little bit soggy, make a big batch of green smoothie and put the extra you don't drink into the freezer. Less waste AND a convenient food to grab when you're going to be out and about! There are countless recipes out there to try and I hope you're inspired to start making your own too!
I forgot to mention I also like green smoothies more than green juices because they have less sugar and more substance. Your body can actually use more of it since it's not in a straight liquid form!
No matter who you are or what your health goals are, you can't go wrong with a healthy smoothie! I wish I had a perfect recipe to share with you but there are just too many ways you can change up your smoothie to your taste or health goal. Here are some ideas of my favorite things to add with my frozen fruit smoothie: Almond milk, 100% juice, chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, celery, cucumber, beets and their greens, spinach, kale, Any sort of greens(I even use broccoli greens from my garden), peanut butter, lemon juice, cinnamon, pure maple syrup, honey, coconut oil, pumpkin, and pure vanilla extract. I'd love to know what works best for you!

New Year's Resolutions: A Better You V.1
This picture really inspired my new year's resolutions this year. I'm sure everyone has some resolutions every year to basically just be a healthier, better person. Well, I'm starting a new little series for this new year with tips on how to be a little more healthy. I'm excited and motivated for this new year, and I hope you are too!
New Year's Resolution #1: More Green Drinks
Drink 1: Green Juice
I try to juice almost every day, but a lot a weeks just feel too lazy. It's kinda like going to the gym. You never really feel like doing it, but are so glad you did after wards. Vegetable juicing has so many benefits that I can't even list them all. Juicing fresh is the best way to get all those fresh enzymes and nutrition into your body fast and easy without having to eat like ten big salads!
Detoxing juice:
Dink 2: Green Smoothie
If you have kids that aren't so found of the green juice, or if you yourself don't care for it much there's a delicious solution. This recipe I found called for one to two bananas, but I used a tiny bit of natural yogurt this time instead.
I hope you enjoyed and are as motivated as I am to start your new year off right! I'll be back soon with more tips for you! Enjoy! xo -Liz

- about 3 cups cabbage
- one cucumber
- one lemon
- about 5 handfulls spinach

If you have kids that aren't so found of the green juice, or if you yourself don't care for it much there's a delicious solution. This recipe I found called for one to two bananas, but I used a tiny bit of natural yogurt this time instead.
- two large spoon full's of yogurt (or 1-2 bananas)
- two large hand full's of spinach
- two cups of frozen fruit
- some water for blending
Drink 3: Green Tea
You have most likely heard many benefits of green tea. The list of benefits is LONG! There are many like curing the common cold, prevent tooth decay, treating MS and cencer, and is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation. It's also the easiest green drink to make! All you need is hot water, green tea bag(and I like a little honey).
I hope you enjoyed and are as motivated as I am to start your new year off right! I'll be back soon with more tips for you! Enjoy! xo -Liz

Currently(and Sandy Hook Incident)
| Ugly sweater day=almost every day |
loving... Christmas everywhere. This season's so cheery don't you think? Even though it does come with some stressful parts.
Reading… Just finished That One Time With Julia that I got from my cousin as an early Christmas gift and now. I'm on to finally reading The Help. I hate reading books after I've already seen the movie, but it was such a good story, maybe it will still be worth it.
Obsessing Over… Getting every thing done in time for Christmas! I know I'll make it, but with a ton of birthdays in the mix it's feeling a little too overwhelming. When are people going to stop having babies in December?!! hah
Thinking about… A lot. Life in general is the best way I can describe it, even though it's way too vague. I love how much I'm still learning about life and constantly trying to better it.
Watching... I've been slowly working my way through The Office seasons all over again. It's one of the best shows(it comes close to Parks and Rec). I'm currently on season 7 when Michael proposes to Holly!
Anticipating… Christmas! Of course.
Wishing... That things like the Sandy Hook incident would never happen. I know a lot of you, including myself, might be wondering, "If there really is a god out there, why would he let such a horrific thing happen?" But we have to remind ourselves that God is the one who gave us free will. He didn't create us like robots, to roam the planet. He gave us the free will to follow him or not. To learn from our mistakes and suffer. I'm not trying to justify what happened what soever, but we need to quit suddenly blaming the one who gave us the freedom. That's like telling a parent that it was their fault bad things started happening when they give you more free will, because you made the wrong decisions with it...
Listening to...
Eating... A green smoothie... preparing for all the amazing Birthday's and Christmas foods I'm about to partake in this week!
